Last month, our CEO and privacy brainbox Alexander Veit gave a talk at the TYPO3 Development Days 2024 (T3DD24) conference in Karlsruhe, Germany, and he had this to say about the event:

I was thrilled to participate at TYPO3's annual three-day event, packed with programming, networking, and a lot of fun under the summer sun. This year's theme Future and Innovation truly lived up to its name, offering a plethora of expert lectures, interactive workshops, and insightful discussions on the latest in technology.

Over 45 minutes, I shared insights on advanced website intelligence tools that ensure compliance without the hassle of cookie banners. The response from the audience was phenomenal, with many attendees appreciating the insights and practical advice.

A big thank you to the organizers of TYPO3 Developer Days for putting together such a fantastic event, and to everyone who attended and made it so special.

We're already looking forward to next year!

But if you missed Alex's presentation "Analytics and How it Should Be", we've already written an extensive article on the subject:

We're equally happy to announce an update our Data Processing Agreement (DPA)

Don't worry, there are no substantive changes.

Instead, we've simply restructured it in collaboration with our lawyers to make the document clearer and more user friendly.

You'll notice that the "Service Description" document has disappeared - this is deliberate, and you can find this important information within the DPA itself.

As a result of this work, we believe that the updates to TWIPLA's legal documentation will make managing your data protection needs simpler and more efficient.

If you want to have a look at the updated documentation, please visit the Privacy Center view of the app.

Thank you for your continued trust in our platform. If you have any questions about the updated DPA or need further clarification, please don’t contact our support team.

We've also deployed a subtle update to how the TWIPLA platform delivers its Email Reports.

In the past, these were sent out with all recpients cced, something that we worried was exposing contact details to others unnecessarily.

This issue has now been resolved. From now on, each recipient will receive their reports without information on who else it was sent to.

It's a small change maybe, but something that will enhance privacy for everyone that uses our website intelligence platform.

Privacy is a pretty important subject for us here at TWIPLA, guiding everything that we do.

And while many businesses understand the importance of this subject and how it feeds into their legal obligations, there will always be some people who are new to the game.

As such, we've written an introductory article on the subject. It explains exactly what data privacy is, how it fits into the wider data protection framework, and why privacy-first tech can make compliance responsibilities just a little bit easier for everyone.

Some clients recently asked us whether TWIPLA collects less data in some instances than Google Analytics 4 and AWStats. So we got our development team to carry out some Spike research, and the results are in.

It's true in some cases.

But this is the result of our superior data curation, with cookieless tracking tech removing more of the bots, crawlers and other "noise" that inaccurately inflates datasets.

TWIPLA also has more robust data privacy measures, and this results in what we term the Privacy Paradox - less data, but more useful data.

We've summarized our findings in a downloadable PDF. In it, you'll find comparative information on:

  • Tracking technologies
  • Primary data sources
  • Data storage
  • User identification
  • Session management
  • Bot filtering
  • Privacy compliance

Adobe Analytics has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons in 2024.

Apple's Safari browser now blocks the platform's tracking code, making this large segment of internet users invisible to Adobe Analytics. The company is also been taken to court in the Netherlands by the Dutch Data Protection Foundation (SDBN) for allegedly spying on and profiling internet users.

Understandably, many of their clients are looking at what else is available on the market, with TWIPLA's privacy credentials, ease of use, and low pricing making us an ideal alternative for businesses of any size.

Given this, we thought it was high time that we published an in-depth review of Adobe Analytics, and how its packages, costs, and features compare with our own website intelligence platform.
