TWIPLA is attending the TYPO3 Development Days 2024 conference in Karlsruhe, Germany!
We're fans of TYPO3 here at TWIPLA, and we have an Extension in their Repository. If you're also a fan, then you might have already heard about this annual three day-event - it's a chance to get together for a few days of programming and networking, as well as some fun in the summer sun!
This year, T3DD24 is focused on all things “Future & Innovation”. There will be expert lectures, workshops, and opportunities to discuss TYPO3 projects with people who understand the technology best.
And that includes our TYPO3, analytics, and privacy maestro Alexander Veit. Catch him in Room 33 on Friday, August 2nd @ 15:45 CET for his talk, “Analytics and How It Should be!”.
Over 45 minutes, our CEO will share his knowledge about the advanced website intelligence tools that businesses can use without having to worry about cookie banner requirements. He'll also be walking the floor, so he'll be there if you want to tap him on the shoulder and ask him some questions.
We can't all get to sunny Karlsruhe for T3DD24. But if you'd still like to know how you can legitimately use web analytics without a cookie banner, all the information is in this TWIPLA blog!
TWIPLA's Dragos Gal won Salesperson of the Year at the Tekpon Awards 2024. He's our Head of Global Sales and Integrations, and is the first point of contact that many clients have with our organization.
It's a fantastic achievement, and it comes as no surprise to anyone that knows him. Dragos is deeply knowledgeable about both the SaaS industry and emerging website intelligence sector, with over a decade's worth of experience. He also understands data privacy laws, and acts as a vital bridge between customer requirements and our development and support teams.
He's also a joy to work alongside, with his natural charisma and enthusiasm for the role a real motivation for everyone around him. So on behalf of everyone at TWIPLA, I'd like to congratulate Dragos for adding another award to his trophy cabinet - it's well deserved!
The Tekpon Awards are the "Oscars of SaaS", and the inaugural event in June brought together 500 industry leaders from around the world for two days of networking, recognition, and celebration at the beautiful Grand Hotel Bucharest in Romania.
About Tekpon: Tekpon is a SaaS software review portal and marketplace. It's run by a fantastic team who have a passion for connecting people with the right tech, and it's there to help everyone understand the positive impact that the right software can have on their personal and business lives.
We were honored to be invited to the Wix Studio Deep Dive Workshop in Bangalore at the end of June. If you’ve been following us from the beginning, you’ll know about our long-standing partnership with Wix. Being the number one analytics integration in their AppMarket has certainly opened many doors for us, and this relationship has now brought us all the way to India.
But it’s far from over! Dragos Gal represented us, and has just returned from what turned out to be an inspiring business trip in the hustle and bustle of India's fourth largest city. He got to meet some like-minded professionals, and it was a fantastic opportunity for us to strengthen existing connections and explore new horizons!
And if he learned anything, it’s that the demand for all-in-one services is higher than ever. This is undoubtedly true of agencies, who are increasingly on the lookout for vendors who can provide comprehensive, fully managed solutions.
TWIPLA exists because of just how important analytics is for marketers, enabling them to make decisions based on real data rather than whimsical hunches.
And while Google Analytics still remains the most famous example of this software, its dominance is being whittled away by the tool's complexity, lack of features, and Google's endless legal issues as a result of GDPR malcompliance.
In this Webinar - delayed because our star and host Dragos Gal has was pulled away to Balgalore - Cookieless Tech founder Alberto di Risio shared his thoughts on the innovative technologies that are giving Google's users food for thought. The two sat down to discuss cookieless Google Analytics alternatives, and they geeked out on a few underutilized data points that they think marketers should be focusing on in 2024.
It was a fun discussion, and you can rewatch it at your leisure by following the link below.
About Our Guest: Cookieless Tech is an information portal for marketers looking for guidance migrating to cookieless martech. They provide a wealth of expert software advice and guides that serve to make this necessary process as simple as possible.
Go into the Overview section of Visitors, and you'll notice that the following four report blocks have been removed:
But don't worry, these report blocks haven't disappeared completely.
Since they're included in the Master Dashboard, the Visitors Overview has become fairly redundant; we're phasing out this module and it will be removed altogether in a few weeks as we look to streamline our interface and make it even more intuitive for users.
At TWIPLA, we believe that it's important to have a consistent design across the interface. But since we're also regularly integrating new ideas that make our analytics platform easier to use, some modules can still retain earlier design elements.
This was the case with Visitor Company Distribution, which had older buttons and search input fields, and we've now tweaked the design so that it matches the wider platform.
In the White Label Websites section of Account Settings, you'll find colored, horizontally stacked bubbles for each of the website contributors.
But before, this view mixed up the active and pending contributors, making it difficult to see at a glance which ones had accepted their access invitation.
That issue has been resolved. Now when you go into this view, you'll see the initials of active contributors, with pending ones clustered separately in a pink circle at the end of the stack.
Click into Business & Billing Data in Account Settings, and you'll find that one of the fields has now changed. In effect, we've divided the Business Type & Size field into two dropdowns - Business Type and Business Size:
It's a small change maybe, but one that will enable us to understand our clients better. And with this additional data, we can then make more informed decisions and implement enhancements that align more closely with user needs and preferences, ultimately leading to a better overall experience for everyone.
And finally, we've made some minor tweaks to how TWIPLA looks on mobile devices. The remaining monthly pageview count at the top of the interface has been made less prominent, and a subtle redesign means that the platform now makes better use of the limited screen space that is available on smartphones. So sign in on whatever device you use and have a little look yourself!
At TWIPLA, we're always looking for ways to make our website intelligence platform more accessible. Of course, this is a little tricky when it comes to something like eCommerce Statistics since this tool needs custom events manually installed to function properly.
To make things a little easier, we've published a User Guide that runs through the 16 events that businesses need to monitor, and how these can be constructed and added to their website HTML.
It's also the third in our series of User Guides that aims to teach people how to use our full website intelligence toolkit holistically to meet end goals. We're also already in the process of creating the next one, which will focus on how businesses can use TWIPLA to improve website conversion rates. Watch this space!
Data anonymization and pseudonymization are two techniques that many technologies use to protect the identities of data subjects, and they work by removing personally identifiable information to some degree or other. They're essential for data security, they're a requirement under many data privacy regulations, and businesses should factor them in when deciding which website integrations to choose.
This blog is a great introduction to these two unpronounceable processes. In it, you'll learn the differences between anonymization and pseudonymization and how they're covered by the data privacy laws that impact your business. It also introduces synthetic data anonymization - an innovative new approach with the best of both.

The privacy policy is a vital component of any website. It's a cornerstone of data privacy compliance, and also builds trust with customers who can refer to it and understand what happens to their personal data.
But unfortunately, only a third of businesses actually make this document available to their website visitors. This is a shame, and is probably a result of companies either not understanding their legal responsibilities, or how to actually write a privacy policy.
This blog shows you how. In it, you'll find a brief overview of what a privacy policy actually is, and how it's different from company to company. It also explains the basics of how to create one that is legally watertight.
At TWIPLA, we're proud that we've created a website intelligence platform that provides all the tools that businesses need to understand and optimize online performance, in complete compliance with all data privacy regulations.
However, we're not the only platform of this type out there, and we feel that it's also important that our users understand how TWIPLA compares with alternatives on the market.
As such, we're working on our website's comparison pages and have written a full review of Piwik PRO. In it, you'll see how Piwik PRO's packages, pricing, and features compare with TWIPLA, and increase your understanding of the emerging privacy-first analytics market.
And that's it, that's everything that's happened here at TWIPLA since June!
It's been a busy month as always. Admittedly, all the platform updates have been relatively minor, but we've got some exciting new features in the wings that we're going to release in the very near future!
If you want to keep up with all things TWIPLA, then the best way - if you haven't already - is to sign up to this monthly newsletter. You'll then receive a single email each month with links to a newsletter just like this.
Until next month, happy analytics!
